Hi all, just a quick post to let you know that we have Neil Walker (check out his blog http://neelzexpressionz.blogspot.co.uk/) coming to run a series of workshops for us. We are all very excited that Neil will be running a series of 4 workshops relating to creative journals with various techniques in each of the 4 workshops. I hope you can make one of these fab workshops.
These are posted on our website if you wish to book online, otherwise please call us as we are happy to help. For those who may need accommodation, we can recommend a few local places, but there is an abundance close by.
I love this Mask by Andy Skinner, on seeing it my hubby said it reminded him of a circular saw! I have used Paperartsy paints to create this pastel whirl.
We have 3 places available on The Cracked Angel workshop with Andy, the Gelli Plate workshops are sold out, however, due to the popularity of Andy's workshops we have secured two more dates for July. All details are available on the website.
I love purple as those of you who know can testify to so it was the first choice for me when I was making this pretty card. I have used Indigoblu and Inkylicious stamps and WOW heat embossing powders. The card size is 8" x 8".
Yes believe it or not its One Direction! And my direction today is to Brum to the NEC to see.......1D!
There is a story behind why I am going but it's a bit long winded so all I'll say is that 1D are not my cup of tea (I prefer David Bowie, Bruno Mars, Adele and Emeli Sande), so please feel for me at 2pm when I'll be surrounded by young girls screaming their lungs out (I'm way to old for this!!)
I shall report back next week with all the gory details!
I wanted to use a strong colour to make this card but I was worried initally that the image would not be prominent enough, however this was not the case and I really like the end result. The stamps are all by Inkylicious. We have a great range of greeting and saying by Inkylicious, there seems to be a suitable one for every occassion.
Materials to make this layout include:
Tando Frame, 2 pieces of 12 x 12 Bazzill, Butterfly mask, Sprays, Sizzix die cut, Ribbon, Paint, Flower, Brad and Stamped Greeting.
The reason for two pieces of bazzill is so as not to waste any ink spray, by fliping over the mask and putting onto a second piece of card you get a positive and negative image and no wasted ink.
The Tando paints up beautifully and is the perfect surface to stamp on too.
Whilst decorating a piece of Tando I was struck by the resemblance to a rather scary machine from my childhood. Now you may have guessed which one I am referring to, but incase you haven't got it below is a picture of the real thing - these used to get me hiding behind a cushion!
I used Skeleton Leaves byInkylicious to make the background for this card. The masking and stamping did take a little while to do but I was pleased by the overall effect. Poppy Panel was stamped in Gathered TwigsDistressInk Pad as was the Verse. I added natural hemp and pearls as a finishing touch.
